Intapol (Polymer Processing Additive Masterbatch)

Description

INTAPOL masterbatches are based on a fluoro polymer which has a high affinity for metal and will form a surface coating on the extruder screw, barrel, and die which enables the polymer melt to pass through with less resistance, resulting in :

  • Increased throughput,
  • Elimination of shark skin,
  • Back pressure reduction,
  • Reduced die build up, and ultimately leading to reduction in power consumption,

Application

Processing additives find use in a wide variety of applications from blow film to fibre, profile extrusion, pipe/tubing and cabling processes. They can be used with many polymers including LDPE, LLDPE, HDPE, and PP.
Initially a dosage of 2 - 5 % based on formulation should be applied to obtain the required surface coating.
After 15 - 20 minutes, depending on some factors such as condition of equipments, resin rheology, a dosage of 0.5 - 2 % is usually enough.
It is FDA approved to be used in food contact application.
